Montpelier Police Log

Here is a sampling of recent calls handled by the Montpelier Police Department:



@Police Log Date:May 20

Kenneth Stridesberg, 34, of Montpelier, was charged with driving under the influence. According to the police report, Stridesberg was stopped at 2:52 a.m. on lower State Street and registered a blood alcohol percentage of 0.14 percent.



@Police Log Date:May 21

At 12:40 a.m., police confronted three men on Berlin Pond property posted “No Trespassing.” There is no report of any no-trespassing citations being issued.



@Police Log Date:May 22

All four wheels were reportedly stolen off a truck at Formula Ford. The vehicle was left sitting on its brake rotors.

Police charged Michael Gilpin, 29, of Montpelier, with violating conditions of release. Gilpin is scheduled to appear in court on June 14 to answer to the charge.



@Police Log Date:May 23

A Hubbard Street resident called police because he said another Hubbard Street resident was threatening to harm his dog.

A Montpelier woman reported to police that someone had allegedly put dog excrement on the bumper of her car.

A bicycle was reportedly stolen while outside Main Street Middle School.

Police began regular patrols of Berlin Pond to enforce no-trespassing on city-owned land. Police spoke with several people about accessing the pond by crossing city land, but there were no reports of any citations being issued by Montpelier police officers.

A Marvin Street resident reported to police that her cat was missing. This isn’t the first time, the police report said, and she suspects her neighbor took it.



@Police Log Date:May 26

Police charged Jason Sand, 34, of Plainfield, with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the police report, Sand registered 0.114 percent blood alcohol content.



@Police Log Date:May 28

A Liberty Street resident reported a black and silver Trek bicycle had been stolen.

Police charged Joseph Morris, 24, of Montpelier with driving with a suspended license.



@Police Log Date:May 29

Police charged Stephen Lobb, 67, of Montpelier, with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the police report, a clerk working at the Champlain Farms gas station in Montpelier said Lobb was in the store attempting to buy beer after hours and broke a bottle of wine. The clerk said that Lobb appeared intoxicated. According to police, Lobb registered 0.144 percent blood alcohol content and is scheduled to appear in court on June 14 to answer to the charge.
